. Hospital foundations are becoming
more prevalent in helping to obtain funding for technological advancements.
Hospitals quite often lose money caring for patients, making it difficult
to cover rising healthcare costs and to keep up with medical advancements in the
healthcare industry. Hospital
foundations are helping to bridge the gap between available resources and
funding needs. For hospitals that
are owned and operated by a hospital district, foundations can help these
districts to maintain lower tax rates.
The foundation is governed by a board of directors, which
currently includes the following:
-
Jim Martin, Chairman
-
Sharon
Hunt, President/CEO
-
Dub Hallmark, Vice-Chairman
-
Embre Douglas, Secretary
-
Rhett Fricke, Treasurer, CFO
-
Denise Doucette
-
Renee Hrbacek
- Peggy Lambert
- Nell Schur
Long-term, ongoing goals for the foundation are to raise money to assist the
hospital in its efforts to: (1) Maintain an efficient, comfortable, secure,
state of the art facility; (2) Obtain and maintain quality equipment for
diagnosis and treatment of patients, and (3) Improve the quality of life for our
community through prevention and education.
Donations can be made as general donations, either
designated or undesignated; honorariums; memorials; special event fundraising,
such as the current building renovation project; and naming opportunities for
designated building projects. Donations
can be mailed to:
