Maintenance Tech - Plant Services
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Performs maintenance, preventive maintenance, biohazard duties for all areas of the hospital.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
• Repair and maintain hospital facilities, including grounds.
• Perform general maintenance projects as assigned, including installations and repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry work, painting, equipment repair, and outside landscaping maintenance.
• Ensure that property is always maintained and safe for employees and visitors
• Completes work orders under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Observe outside vendor repairs.
• Inspect fire extinguishers monthly.
• Change out filters on A/C units as needed.
• Assure that trash and bio-hazardous material is taken out on a scheduled basis.
• Check lights in patient rooms weekly.
• Coordinate the orderliness of the basement storage area.
• Assist in moving supplies and equipment as needed
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Must be available on-call at times after hours and weekends
• Ability to climb and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Background in general repair.
SKILLS: Good mechanical skills and the ability to work with people.
